What is Baby2Home?
Baby2Home is a grant-funded initiative that aims to examine how new parents engage and use an innovative evidence-based app (Baby2Home) during the 12-month postnatal period.
Baby2Home is a mental health app designed using stakeholder input to support the transition parenthood. The app provides support on:
- Infant development
- Parental mental health
- Healthcare utilization
Mental health collaborative care is interwoven into Baby2Home.
Why is Baby2Home important?
This initiative stemmed from knowing the following:
- We know that parents are at risk for mental health issues during the perinatal period.
- We know that parents are increasingly engaging with pregnancy and parenting apps.
- YET, little is known about the effectiveness of mental health apps designed to improve perinatal mental health among first time parents.
Baby2Home’s Objectives
- Improve maternal, paternal, and infant preventive health service utilization over the first year postpartum
- Improve maternal and paternal patient reported outcome (PRO) trajectories over the first year postpartum
- Reduce racial/ethnic and income-based disparities in preventive health services utilization and parental PROs.
