Care Team Training

Why is training important?

The perinatal collaborative care team is comprised of several key roles: the obstetric clinician, care manager, and supervising psychiatrist.  However, the provision of collaborative care as a whole is also supported by other members of the team and clinical staff such as medical assistants (who often administer mental health surveys) and health care administrators (who promote practice and cultural change in the clinic).

In order to support interdisciplinary teams in their implementation of the perinatal collaborative care model, we have developed training materials that span across all roles and trainings that are more role-specific.

“I’m grateful for the structure, support, and accountability that collaborative care provides. It empowers me to use my clinical judgment to deliver personalized, empathetic care, while the patient registry helps me track treatment effectiveness and identify patients who may need additional support" - Care Manager
